Myanmar jadeite mining
Myanmar is a world-famous jade ore mining site. The Myanmar jade ore mining area is located in the northern Myanmar region, on the border with Sega Province in the western Kachin State, that is, along the upper reaches of the Oolong River, extending northeast-southwest to the middle, about 250 kilometers long, about 60-70 kilometers wide, and about 3,000 square kilometers. People mined jade from alluvial matter in the Wulong River Basin at the latest in the 13th century AD. After the 13th century AD, Myanmar has been the main exporter and supplier of high-quality jade in the world, but its native jade ore deposit was not discovered until 1871.
Myanmar jade deposits can be divided into two categories: native ore deposits and secondary ore deposits. The native jade deposits in northern Myanmar are produced in serpentine peridotite. The serpentine peridotite rock mass is 18 kilometers long from north to south and 6.4 kilometers wide from east to west. They are close to the contact zones of ultra-high pressure and high-pressure metamorphic rock systems such as blue amphibole schist. They extend along a certain direction in the form of rock veins or rock walls, and tilt to the ground at a certain angle. Because the native jade deposits are buried deep below the surface for a long time, they have not suffered erosion and migration from external geological effects, they are relatively hard, so they are difficult to mine.
The native jade deposits in Myanmar are mainly distributed in three areas, namely the western and northern part of the Leidachang area and the Longkenchang area. The secondary deposits are mainly secondary sand deposits, divided into the Hefloodan-deposited jade sand mine along the Wulong Riverbed and the Highland gravel-layer jade sand mine far away from the riverbed. The Hefloodan-deposited jade sand mine is mainly distributed on both sides of the main river channel of the Wulong River, and is most developed in the Paganchang area (locally called water stone), and the jade quality is relatively high.
Myanmar's jade ore is mainly produced in Myanmar's Myanmar jade ore deposits. According to their geographical location and administrative division, they are customarily divided into 8 major fields (this so-called field area is only a division of administrative management, not a division of jadeite causes): Longken Field Area, Pagan Field Area, Xiangdong Field Area, Damukan Field Area, Huika Field Area, Houjiang Field Area, Leida Field Area, and Nanqi-small Field Area. Each field area is further divided into many small "factory entrances".
Chinese people have loved jade for 8,000 years. Confucius, the most sage teacher of the Chinese, gave jade the beauty of human nature, almost making a warm stone the highest realm of being a human being. During the Warring States Period, King Zhao of Qin was willing to exchange 15 cities for a piece of beautiful jade, which was enough to make people today puzzled. Of course, the jade in this period mainly refers to nephrite represented by white jade. In the Qing Dynasty, the crystal clear green stone from Myanmar (Fairy)
After entering the palace, a green fashion suddenly emerged and became uncontrollable. "Jade" was as crystal clear as spring water, and because of its spirituality and moistness, it quickly won the favor of royal nobles and won the reputation of "Emperor Jade". "Jade" has a accumulated national emotion and aesthetic orientation hidden throughout the body. While people are full of love for it, they also call it "jade".
The colors of jade are divided into native colors: white, green, purple, black, dark green; and secondary colors: yellow, red, etc. Before the 1990s, jade was mainly collected and worn by Chinese people in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, but the cultural heritage of the nation led to the return of the rich Chinese people's love for jade. After the reform and opening up, China's pursuit of jewelry went through different stages such as gold, red sapphire, diamonds, etc., and now it has begun to turn into jade. One of the most important reasons is the "return of jade culture". At the end of 2003, at the jade exhibition jointly organized by Yansha Shopping Mall, two jewelry business companies, Wan Ruixiang and Taiyuanfeng, a string of jade bead chains with a price of RMB 1.08 million, which attracted the attention of all walks of life in the capital. In fact, such a price is really not high for jade fine products. The most expensive jade bead chains in the world appeared in 1997
At the auction of Christie's in Hong Kong in autumn, a string of beads consisting of 27 pure green beads, each bead is between 1.52 cm and 1.59 cm in diameter. A 10-carat diamond buckle is attached to the bead chain. This bright and gorgeous jade bead chain is estimated to be more than HK$40 million, but at the end of the auction, the transaction price reached HK$72.62 million (this jade bead chain is taken from a piece weighing about 50 kilograms.
Burmese jadeite rough stone. More than 30 years ago, a Southeast Asian jeweler did not think it was precious when he bought this stone, so he planned to sell it but no one cared about. Later, the jeweler cut the jade open, and the center of the jade was a piece of turquoise jade weighing about 1 kilogram. So the jeweler made it into this unique bead chain named "Double Color". Some people counted that in China, the price of fine jadeite has increased by 1,000 times in the past 50 years.
Although jade is beautiful, its mining is very difficult. There are more than 400 companies registered in Pagan and other areas, but there are only about 50 that have been officially mined. Among them, the largest ones include Myanmar Hongbang Company, Wenna Company, Changlong Company, Lucky Star Company and other companies. The mining scale is calculated based on the number of excavators. The largest ones are more than 100 units, and the least one is only 1 unit, with each tonnage of more than 25 tons.
The jadeite sand mine is a hill composed of stone, soil and jadeite. The workers first use zha medicine to blow up the hard places, then use monster hands to dig it up and lift it up, slowly turning to one side. There are several experienced workers who have selected jadeite jade in the place where the soil is poured. Each monster has 3-4 people to choose. The selected soil is transported to another place for the second selection, and then the waste soil is transported out and poured out. Dig down layer by layer until the entire mountain is dug. It was originally thought that jadeite will be discovered every time the monster hands dig, but it is not. According to mining merchants, there are very few jadeite jades, and it is common for strange hands to not be able to dig jadeite for a few days. What's more, jadeite jade is only in
It can only be mined in the dry season, and it only takes less than half a year in the dry season. The selected jadeite is transported to the location designated by the miner, and experienced people illuminate it with light, and then determine whether the jadeite is useful based on the appearance of the jadeite and other characteristics. In this way, some of the mined jadeite will be eliminated. The remaining jadeite is then marked by experienced people, and workers saw the jadeite based on the marked lines. It is understood that 70% of the sawed jadeite has no economic value, while the jadeite with economic value is less than 30% of the amount of jadeite mined, so it is even more difficult to find fine jadeite. Some people describe it as finding that fine jadeite is more difficult than winning sports lottery.
Not only is it difficult to mine jadeite, but it also has a very high mining cost. It is understood that there is a jade mining company with about 80 strange hands (15% of which need maintenance), and about 60-70 units can be activated every day (the annual amount of useful jadeite jade is about 1,500 tons). Every year, it only costs 5 billion Myanmar Kyat (about 50 million yuan) for daily expenses such as medicine, oil, labor costs, etc. In addition, the mountain roads from the mining area to the city are very rugged.
