On Hong Kong Radio, Akane Liang walked out of the TVB building and felt particularly comfortable.
As a marketing staff member of the Japanese studio_deen animation company, Akada Ryo had just started a big business with TVB. He packaged and sold the TV version of "Dora A Dream" and "Fuxing Boy" to wireless TVB together with the company's "Golfist Ape".
The future studio_deen animation company is well-known in Japan, and has produced many popular animations including "Range Sword Heart", "Ghost Eyes and Mad Sword", "Hell Girl", "Doraemon", etc., but now it is just a new company in the rising period.
Studio_deen was founded ten years ago and is a studio affiliated to Sun Rise, a subsidiary of the famous Bandai Company. It specializes in painting, coloring and other work for the parent company. It was not until four years ago that it became independent and completed the production of "Fuxing Boy" and became famous in one fell swoop.
So far, the only works produced by studio_deen animation company are "Full Star Boy", "Doraemon" has been released, and the other two TV versions of the animation are still in production.
Animation production is a very expensive business. Although the parent company of studio_deen is a super giant in the industry, studio_deen has now independently produced profits and losses. Now, four TV animations (including "Fu Xing Boy" and "Doraemon" sequel), an OV animation and a theatrical animation. Studio_deen's capital turnover has serious problems, and it has to explore overseas markets to make some money.
Now the TV version of "Doraemon" has been sold to Taiwan. Today, signing a long-term cooperation contract with Hong Kong's wireless station will bring considerable benefits to studio_deen.
"Mr. Aicai, Section Chief Wu has a banquet tonight. I hope you can enjoy the glory." The wireless station employee who sent Aicai Liang out sent an invitation.
Akada Ryo bowed and said, "Thank you for the hospitality, see you tonight!"
Both sides were kind enough, Aida Ryo took his assistant Saburo Hirai to the hotel where he stayed.
The reason why people from the wireless station are so enthusiastic is not only because they bought the cartoon of "Doraemon", but also because studio_deen and TVB's animation team reached a technical cooperation intention.
The reason why Japanese comics can enter the Hong Kong market is that TVB plays an important role.
More than ten years ago, TVB began to introduce Japanese cartoons. Hong Kong people who had never watched TV cartoons were immediately captured, and even adults often watched children's programs.
Seeing that Japanese cartoons were so popular, Hong Kong comic publishers copied TV versions of animations into comics and distributed them in large quantities. For a time, Japanese pirated comics flooded the Hong Kong comic market. The impact of this move has continued until now. I don’t know that the production process of Hong Kong comics is learned from Japan, and even the style of painting is influenced by Japanese comics. Today’s Hong Kong comics are actually a collection of American comics and Japanese comics blended with traditional Chinese painting styles.
Studio_deen also attaches great importance to the business with TVB, because judging from the previous ten years, cartoons that were screened and popular on TVB will become popular in the Nanyang area in the next one or two years.
Once the TVB business is started, the cartoon equivalent of studio_deen will enter the Nanyang market. This is very important for studio_deen, which is eager to explore overseas markets.
In the taxi, Assistant Saburo Hirai asked in Japanese: "Aida, there is also a Phoenix TV station in Hong Kong. Why don't we try to get in touch with them?"
Aichi Ryoshi shook his head and said, "Phoenix Channel has signed a long contract with Madhouse. He bought the Hong Kong vacation broadcast rights of seven cartoons in Madhouse at a low price. It is impossible to buy Japanese cartoons again in the next one or two years."
Saburo Hirai didn't say anything more. Although Madhou Color was only three years earlier than Studio_deen, Studio_deen had been outsourcing large companies before 1981, and had much less qualifications than Madhou Color, who made cartoons by herself at the beginning, and the cartoon library of both parties was completely incomparable.
Madhou can sell seven or eight cartoons in one go. Studio_deen has only completed two TV animations in total.
(In fact, Madhou Se and Studio_deen are in the same lineage. 13 years ago, the Japanese comic god Osamu Tezuka's company was in crisis. Two independent groups of people established Madhou Se and Studio_deen's former parent company Sun Nishi.)
The two got out of the car and entered the hotel. Ryo Akada said to Saburo Hirai: "The matter has been discussed now. Go and help me buy a copy of all the famous comics and magazines in Hong Kong."
Whenever you go to a place, you must carefully appreciate local comics. This is a habit that Akagi Yoshi has developed for many years.
Saburo Hirai smiled and said, "What are the good things about Hong Kong comics? This is not the first time we have come here. The best sales here are Kung Fu comics. Hong Kong comics have no creativity."
Seeing the assistant's disdainful smile, Akata Ryo immediately lowered his face: "Baga, if I ask you to buy it, do it quickly. Are your ears deaf?"
"Hay! Wait for a moment." The smile on Hirai Saburo's face instantly condensed, and then he ran quickly to the front desk of the hotel.
There is no problem with Saburo Hirai's business trip in Hong Kong, but he speaks Cantonese a little awkward. He called a waiter and took out two hundred Hong Kong dollars to instruct: "Go and buy the most popular comic publications in Hong Kong. If I can satisfy me, I will calculate your tips."
40 minutes later, Saburo Hirai came in with a bunch of comics daily newspapers, weekly magazines, and said respectfully: "Aida, the comic you want is here."
Akada Ryo casually took out a book called "Dragon and Tiger Gate", and threw it to the side after just a look. Then he looked at "Chinese Heroes" again, nodding and applauding: "Although it is still mainly based on kung fu, this realistic style is also innovative in Hong Kong."
Saburo Hirai was doing things without any loss. Before coming up, he inquired about various news and said: "This "Hero of China" is the highest-selling comic in Hong Kong in the past two years."
Akada Ryo nodded and placed "Chinese Heroes" separately. Then he took out a comic daily published by Huang Yulang, and then scanned it roughly and lost interest.
"Hey, this comic is interesting!" Akada Ryo suddenly held "The Journey of Ethereal", "This is one of the rare magical comics in Hong Kong."
Saburo Hirai explained: "This comic is adapted from a magic novel. The author is Kang Jianfei, who is well-known in Japan. A few days ago, "The Journey of Ethereal" was published separately, and the first issue sold 230,000 copies, breaking the Hong Kong comic sales record."
"That big director Kang Jianfei?" Aida Ryo said in surprise, "This is actually his comic, it's so interesting."
Akada Ryo finished reading more than 40 pages of "The Journey" in one breath and commented: "The imagination of this comic is too strong. If it is released in Japan, it will definitely be able to sell well, and the results will not be bad when it is made into an animation."
In addition to selling the company's cartoons, Ryo Akata's job is also responsible for collecting good comics from abroad. If he can buy the copyright at a low price and make it into a cartoon, it will be an exciting surprise.
The rise of studio_deen is purely because they have obtained the copyrights of two good comics, "Fuxing Boy" and "Doraemon", so they pay special attention to this.
After reading several comics and publications in succession, Akada Ryo finally turned to "The King of Paintings". The front page of the romance made his eyes lit up instantly.
"A manga style that has never been seen before, this author is a pioneering genius!" Aida Ryo said as he went to see the author's signature, but it was painted by a man named Zhou Zhou. He said to Saburo Hirai, "You go and find Zhou Zhou and see how his comic skills are."
How could Akada Ryo know that the romance of "The King of Painting" opens to all comic lovers for the call for papers. Zhou Zhou is just an ordinary reader.
If you continue reading, the later "Pink Girl" made Aida Ryo quite praise it. This kind of life comic is also very popular in Japan. Wang Ze's "Old Master" also sold well in Japan.
Aida Ryo said: "This "Ethereal Journey" and "Pink Girl" are good. You can buy their Japanese comic agency distribution rights and TV animation adaptation rights."
Saburo Hirai flattered: "Aida Jun came to Hong Kong and not only reached a cooperation agreement with TVB, but also found two potential comics with keen eyes. You are so amazing."
Akada Ryo nodded with a smile and continued to flip through the "King of Paintings". Not long after, his eyes were staring at the newspaper.
"What's wrong? Aida-kun." Saburo Hirai asked.
Akada Ryoga was breathing heavily, pointing at the comics daily and said, "Go to the Hei Horse Comics Company now, be sure to buy this "Crayon Shin-chan"!"
Saburo Hirai looked at his watch and said, "Aada, it's getting late, so why don't you go there another day."
"No, it may be bought by another company a moment later," Akada Ryo said as he stood up suddenly, put the pictorial and ran out quickly, and said while running, "I have a premonition that "Crayon Shin-hsin" will be as popular as "Doraemon". As long as you can buy the copyright of this comic in person, the bonus you will receive will be enough for us to eat for half our life!"
"What? It's as popular as "Doramon"! So what are you waiting for? Aida, let's hurry up." Saburo Hirai instantly turned into a scythe, and even the door of the hotel room was too late to close, so he chased Aida Ryu in front of him. (To be continued...)
