Act II Eagle Bank

The road paved with stone slabs was bumpy, and mud and water accumulated on the streets that had just rained. The carriage not only left ruts, but also left feces. When the people stepped on it, the mud and water became feces.

An elderly homeless man was curled up in the corner with gray hair and long beard. His eyes kept sweeping passersby in the past. When he saw Doug, who was dressed in luxuriously, young and indestructible, regardless of the feces on the ground, he rushed over and hugged Doug's thighs.

"Sir, okay, please give me some money..." Cang Lao's voice was full of begging.

Doug lowered his head and looked at the homeless man holding his legs. His dry hands were like branches that had passed through winter, as if they could become shattered with a slight fold.

"Get out." Doug roared in disgust. He hated homeless people the most because it reminded him of himself not long ago and his sad appearance.

He raised his foot and kicked the old guy with a stinky smell and said, "What's wrong with having hands and feet? You're begging for food? I can't even live well myself, so how can I give you money? If you are poor, you should die!"

When people passing by saw this scene, they turned their heads and turned their heads back to look at the road. Everyone was used to the scene of the gentleman scolding the homeless man, and no one tried to stand up and uphold justice.

Doug, whose shoes were a little dirty, left with his drawings and letters. There were still many pedestrians on the street, and the only difference was an elderly vagabond moaning.

"Is it a shoe shining? It's cheap! Just a silver coupon for eagle!"

In front of the Eagle Bank in New Haven, the shoe shiner, who was only fourteen years old at most, was eruditely attracted customers. When he saw Doug stopping by his stall, he hurriedly said, "Sir, do you want to shine shoes? I shin my shoes quickly and cleanly!"

"Damn." Doug said.

"Sir, please sit here and put your feet here." The shoe shiner asked Doug to sit on the stool in front of the shoe stall, and polished his shoes neatly.

"Sir, are you going to go to the bank to do business?" asked the shoe shining guy while shining his shoes.

Doug didn't say anything, and the little guy who shined his shoes consciously closed his mouth.

...

"Sir, it's done!" shouted the shoe shining brother.

Doug looked at his shiny calfskin shoes and asked, "Have you wiped it clean?"

"Sir, of course I'll wipe it clean! If you don't believe me, I'll show you!" The shoe-stained guy immediately knelt down and kissed him with his feet, "Sir, it's really clean!"

"Very good." Doug's stern face suddenly smiled. He took out a silver coin from his pocket and threw it out. The coin drew a beautiful silver arc and landed on the ground in front of his shoe shining boy.

The shoe shiner picked up the silver coins stained with the grass stems in the horse manure, wiped them clean with his hands, bit them and confirmed that they were real silver coins, and immediately said, "Thank you sir! You are such a great person!"

"No need to thank me. I'll go in and do something first. I want to ask you if I have something to do later." Doug said.

"Yes! Sir! You are always here for you!" The shoe-stained guy replied loudly. Money is power. The silver coin that Doug gave him was much more valuable than the silver coin coupons issued by Eagle Bank in this era of scarcity of coins. With this coin, his power is stronger than ten strong men.

Doug looked at the shoe shining guy who was so cheap that he could be bought with a silver coin and shook his head, stepped onto the steps of the Eagle Bank, and walked into the bank.

New Haven Eagle Bank was founded in 1811 and was founded by James Hillhouse, who was then the treasurer of Yale University.

At that time, the economy in New Haven was booming and the number of merchants gradually increased. Eagle Bank, which aims to support industry and commerce, quickly won the public's trust. Not long after, Yale University also handed over all the assets of the Yale Fund to Eagle Bank for management.

But the good times did not last long. After George Hodley, who graduated from Yale and was the mayor of New Haven, took office, took office. His series of operations caused Yale University's donation funds to suffer a crushing defeat and severely shrank.

Eagle Bank, which is in a crisis of trust, has slowly recovered its credibility after years of hard work.

The letter from the old president asked Doug to help him lead was to William, the current president of Eagle Bank. Like the previous president, he is also an alumnus of Yale University.

"Please come with me," said the beautiful and tall white lady.

Doug followed her, the spiraling stairs and swaying butt made him feel a little dizzy. He could only walk normally with the handrail.

The door materials in the president's office are exquisite, but they are different from the introvertedness of the principal's office.

The front desk lady pushed open the door and opened her body. The first thing Doug saw when he walked in was the table that was so wide that it was beyond words.

Two small flags are inserted on the huge tabletop made of the entire log. They are the Stars and Stripes representing the United States of America and the Eagle Flag representing the Eagle Bank.

On the inside of the table, on a soft sling made of whale yin (harmonious) stem skin, a blond man in his prime and smart face sat.

"Let me guess who you are!" said the blonde man stood up from his seat, walked around the huge table, and walked to Doug, and said in a flamboyant tone.

"Doug, Doug, right? My friend, you are very famous at Yale recently. Even in New Haven, everyone knows it. Let me think about what you are looking for me?... Oh, sorry! That's the old guy's letter. Can I read the letter first?"

"Of course." Doug handed the letter in his hand to the blonde William.

President William glanced at the hot paint seal on the letter, waved his hand and asked the white big butt front desk lady to go out, got up the envelope, threw out the letter paper and looked at it.

Soon after, William finished reading the letter, he said cheerfully, "That is to say, do you want to borrow money from me?"

"That's right." Doug replied.

"My friend, I can lend you a thousand Eagle silver coin coupons!" William said.

"A thousand eagle silver coin coin coin?" Doug sneered, "Are you sending the homeless? I want to borrow at least one thousand dollars of gold coins and at least one hundred thousand eagle silver coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin, well, ten thousand gold coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin coin co

"Battleman? My friend, as far as I know, you were really a damn little vagabond a month ago. One hundred thousand eagle coupons? Impossible! What can you make me think you are worth one hundred thousand eagle coupons and let me lend you the money?" William looked at Doug with a look of mud.

Doug seemed immune to William's insulting words and eyes. He raised his hand and pointed to his head and said, "I have this, it's worth your investment, you won't lose."

"Brain? Your brain is worth one thousand dollars? One hundred thousand silver coin coin coin coin? Don't joke, smart brains are everywhere in this world, but there is only so much money. I don't think your brain is one size bigger than others. For the sake of the old guy, I will lend you at most two thousand silver coin coin coin coin coin coin, with a monthly interest rate of 5%. William said while sitting back on his soft chair.

Doug shook his head and said in a gentle tone, "Can you lend your paper and pen?"

"Yes, but you have to return it twice."

"Okay." Doug picked up his pen, and he would use words to prove his worth.
