Chapter 17 The Power of the Moon

When entering the house, the first thing Klein saw was a foyer, which was very spacious, with many chairs and umbrella stands, and was elegantly decorated and well-decorated. If it weren't for knowing the structure in advance and inspecting it on the spot, Klein would even think it was a living room.

Through the second door, he suddenly saw a cheerful look and a hall that could be used for dozens or hundreds of guests to dance appeared.

The center of the hall is covered with bright and thick and soft carpets, surrounded by bright and clear marble floor tiles, with pianos, stone carvings and other items placed, and stone pillars inlaid with ornaments are laid to support the second floor.

On the left is a row of floor-to-ceiling windows, outside is a green lawn and a blooming garden, on the right are walls, wooden doors and corridors, leading to the lounge, storage room, bathroom, kitchen and butler's room and other places.

The hall is two floors high, with crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, making people imagine what it looks like after night comes.

Walk forward to the end, and there are stairs on each side to lead to the second floor.

The corridor here is square, and the empty part in the center is exactly where the lobby is covered with carpets. Klein just takes a glass of wine and stands on the railing on the second floor, and can leisurely enjoy the dance party below.

The second floor has many rooms, including a living room, a living room, a dining room, a bathroom, a billiard room, and a large number of bedrooms. If guests need to stay, they will stay here.

Similarly, there are two stairs on the second floor leading to the third floor, where Dawn Dontes lives, with an exaggerated master bedroom, a semi-open room with bar with sunlight and a study room with small library, two cloakrooms and a personal servant, a small bedroom where the nightmaid lives, as well as a room and a bathroom for family members, but Klein is currently only single.

As for the other servants, in the row of bungalows behind the building, the other direction was the stables.

The underground part of the building is equally spacious, with a large pantry and a wine cellar.

Klein took off his coat and stood straight on the balcony of the third and a half-open room on the balcony of the surrounding neighborhood. Looking at the scenery of the surrounding neighborhoods, he couldn't help but sigh in his heart:

"It's true that expensive still means expensive. The 315 pounds rent is not too wasteful..."

He had already paid a year's rent yesterday afternoon and could only force himself to become more and more pleasing to the place.

At the same time, he directly paid Walter's annual salary of 115 pounds, because after he won the Antigonus family notes, he was likely to abscond, causing Mr. Butler to lose his job.

Based on this concept, he also paid the butler Taneya an annual salary of 42 pounds at a time this morning, which made the lady feel the generous and demeanor of Mr. Dawn Dontes.

After the discussion and busyness of the two housekeepers, the servants had already hired all of them. A male family property manager had an annual salary of 30 pounds, a personal male servant Richardson had an annual salary of 35 pounds, two male servants who were responsible for receiving guests to serve at the dining table each had an annual salary of 25 pounds, two first-class maids had an annual salary of 18 pounds, two second-class maids had an annual salary of 12 pounds, and two rough-lived male servants had an annual salary of 12 pounds.

In addition to these, the chef earns an annual salary of 30 pounds, the kitchen assistant 15 pounds, the kitchen maid 13 pounds, the pantry maid 11 pounds, the family nurse 25 pounds, the labourer 10 pounds, the two coachmen 25 pounds, the two gardeners 20 pounds, and the two washing maids 10 pounds, totaling 413 pounds, almost 8 pounds per week.

Including the annual salary of the two housekeepers, Klein has to pay 570 pounds a year, which is about 11 pounds a week, which is not counting the expense of providing food, clothing, and various daily necessities.

Every Monday, I opened my eyes and had no income yet, so I had to spend more than ten or twenty pounds... Klein calculated casually and forced himself to turn his eyes to the garden.

After paying the rent of the two carriages and the first week's salary for the servants at noon, and giving the female housekeeper Tanaya 1,000 pounds of cash for daily expenses, he only had 1,286 pounds of banknotes and 18 gold coins left on him, but the funds from Miss Justice and Ms. Hermit will be "received" one after another within this week.

I don’t know how long the 1,000 pounds from Taneya can last. Just store all kinds of alcoholic beverages that can handle the dance party banquet, it will cost at least a few hundred pounds... The rich man Dawn Dontes fell into deep thought and couldn’t extricate himself.

In order to calm down, he decided to take advantage of the time when the housekeeper and the servants were busy handling the affairs of the new house, to go around the gray fog, and study the weird puppet sacrificed by Emlin White.

After the blood moon, Klein had to return to the mysterious space, pull Forth in, and endured his sleepiness and listened to the other party's nagging about Beckland's daily life. When everything subsided, he was too sleepy. After accepting Emlin's sacrifice, he returned to the real world and fell asleep.

After finishing the dark vest with a stylish line, Klein walked to the entrance, opened the door, and said to Richardson, a close-fitting servant who was standing outside:

"I'm used to taking a nap for three quarters of a minute at this time and don't let anyone bother me."

"Okay, sir." Richardson responded humbly.

He was a mixed-race illegitimate son, his father was a Rueen, the manager of a manor, and his mother was an indigenous native of Dongbailang, a slave of that manor. After he was born, he was discriminated against and bullied and developed a cowardly and obedient character. Because he looked very good and was suitable for receiving guests, he was selected as a servant by the owner of the manor and brought to Beckland.

When the Upper and Secondary Houses of the Ruen Kingdom passed the bill to abolish slavery, he suffered a tragic loss of employment and had to ask for assistance from the "Metropolitan Help Family Servants Association".

Before Kline, he served two families, made some mistakes, and accumulated a lot of experience. He was attracted by the butler Walter and became Dawn Dontes' personal servant.

After looking at Richardson, who was tall and about the same height as him now, Klein shook his head invisibly and sighed in his heart:

"This guy who can be a celebrity in this way can only be a servant in this era. He is obviously so tall, but he is timid and cowardly. However, this is also an advantage. He is obedient, silent, obedient, and does whatever the master says, and he will never take his own initiative...

"If I had only one personal servant and needed him to handle various affairs, Richardson would definitely not be qualified, but I still had the butler Walter and so many servants, and the rest, with his experience and ability, was enough to deal with it."

Without further ado, Klein closed the door and locked it, returned to the easy chair, walked four steps backwards, and entered the gray fog.

He sat to the position of "fool", and with a move, he let the charred "moon puppet" fly over and fall in front of him.

After repeated examinations, Klein did not find any special place, so he showed paper and pen and wrote the divination sentence:

“Its origin.”

Putting down the pen, Klein waited for a few seconds before picking up the paper and leaning back against the back of the chair.

Well, spiritual intuition did not stop me from divining, which shows that the hidden danger of "Moon Puppet" is not as great as the extraordinary characteristics of the Rose School... Klein muttered and skillfully recited the divination sentence.

In the gray world, he saw an altar with a circle of torches inserted.

The altar was covered with things that were suspected to be human skin, with blood everywhere, and three candles and several dolls that were slender like wooden stakes were placed in the center.

These small puppets have curved eyes and bends, which seem to correspond to the crescent moon in the sky.

Therefore, they always have strange smiles, and their bodies are covered with dry grass and dried flowers.

A priest in a dark red robe was walking hard around the altar, like dancing a dance invented by an epilepsy patient.

At some point, the moonlight gathered and shone on the puppets, getting brighter and brighter. At the end, it seemed that there were waves of water swaying gently.

The ceremony soon came to an end. The priest picked up a slender puppet, walked to the human being tied to the shelf next to him, and inserted it into the other's eye socket.

The scene changed rapidly in the shrill screams, and the dead with "moon puppets" stuck in the eye sockets were buried regularly in a place.

The scene began to develop in a jumpy manner. Whenever the full moon and the blood moon were full, the glow would sprinkle on the tomb land, and the water penetrated into it, and the surroundings were dark and deep.

Klein opened his eyes, adjusted his sitting position, and roughly understood the origin of the "Moon Puppet":

They originated from a ceremony that prayed to the "primitive moon" and a ceremony that lasted hundreds of years!

Over the past few hundred years, they have absorbed the power of the Red Moon and mutated little by little until they were excavated by some colonists.

They usually don't have any weirdness. Only believers of the "primitive moon" can turn it on with the right method. As for the effect, Klein is not clear.

In a sense, these puppets are equivalent to the "primitive moon" benefactor... After I was killed by me last night, the evil god became angry, so there was a Blood Moon? Klein tapped his fingers on the edge of the mottled long table, and made a preliminary judgment.

Well, the anger of the "primitive moon" directly changes the moon phenomenon and manifests itself as a blood moon... If this guess is correct, it means that in the field of the red moon, the goddess is not as good as the "primitive moon". She may even just occupy a name and holds a "0"-level seal... Klein nodded slightly and tried to divine the weakness of the "moon puppet".

This time, he saw the sunshine and the lightning.

In other words, the extraordinary abilities in the "Sun" realm and the lightning in the "Storm" realm are most suitable for dealing with it... While interpreting the content of the revelation, Klein threw the "Moon Puppet" into the pile of debris and returned to the real world.

An hour later, Walter, dressed in a well-dressed manner, knocked into the room with white gloves, bowed:

"Sir, I will print some of your business cards and send them to the neighbors around me next.

“They will observe for a few days, confirm your situation, and if they are willing to accept you, they will give you a gift and invite you to visit.

“What titles do you need to add to your business card?”

Title... The fool who does not belong to this era? Klein secretly complained and responded with a smile:

"Daune Dontes, a businessman from Disi, is enough."

Val's head lowered and said:

"According to your intentions, I will arrange etiquette classes for you immediately, with the focus on dancing, and I will invite a professional tutor to come."
