391 [Future Plan]

The Beijing R&D Center of Shenzhou Technology has been moved to a newly built office building.

Since last year, office buildings have been completed in Zhongguancun, and real estate has become one of the most profitable industries in Zhongguancun.

Song Weiyang first visited the EDA laboratory that had just been built but had not been officially put into use.

As soon as he walked in, he saw several researchers playing minesweeping games. Liu Qiang, who was accompanying the tour, suddenly had a dark face that could drip out of ink.

Liu Qiang no longer participates in specific research and development work. He is mainly responsible for project-level management and control and does nothing, but he needs to check everything.

"Cough cough," Liu Qiang coughed twice, "The chairman is here to visit everyone. Also, it's a good idea to turn off the game and play minesweeping during working hours!"

"Hello Chairman!"

The researchers stood up to greet each other, then stared at Song Weiyang, obviously very curious about their chairman.

Today, the on-duty teacher of the laboratory was a young man with acne on his face. He quickly explained: "Edy's laboratory is doing the final test, and the test takes a certain amount of time, so everyone will play minesweep and relax. If the chairman and Mr. Liu have any opinions, we will not play in the future."

Song Weiyang smiled and said, "It's okay, it's a combination of work and rest. As long as it doesn't delay normal work, it's all young people, I understand."

"Long live the chairman!"

A large group of technical mates cheered immediately, feeling that their chairman was very kind, and then ran to chat with Song Weiyang with a smile.

After staying in the EDA laboratory for a while, Song Weiyang visited other project teams, and finally returned to the office, expressed his ideas about developing the U disk, and asked: "It's not technically difficult, right?"

Liu Qiang was immediately excited: "Of course it's not difficult. The USB interface technology is ready-made, and the flash memory technology is also ready-made. We only need to develop a docking communication control program under the USB interface technology archives and the flash memory interface technology archives. This is a genius idea. With this mobile flash drive, it can greatly facilitate data mobile storage and become popular all over the world! Chairman, who came up with this idea?"

Song Weiyang said: "I just thought it was inconvenient to use floppy disks, so I wanted to make a more convenient storage."

"The chairman is the chairman, you can think of this." Liu Qiang said with a smile.

Song Weiyang said: "You just said that there are both USB interface patents and flash memory technology patents, so what other patents can we apply for?"

Liu Qiang said: "It's the patent for this kind of USB memory."

"That is, there is not much difficulty in patents?" Song Weiyang asked.

"It's not difficult. I guess it can be done in one month when I call a few technicians," Liu Qiang said happily. "The key to this patent is not the technical difficulty, but the idea, which is equivalent to breaking a layer of window paper!"

"Okay, there will be a patent lawsuit in the future." Song Weiyang said speechlessly.

Historically, the company that invented U disk was Shenzhen Langke. With several foreign companies competing for patents, Langke has successively won the recognition of China and the US Patent Office, and its inventor status is unquestionable.

The industry has a joke about Langko, saying that the company started its business through patent research and development and survived through patent lawsuits.

Until 2018, few people used the U disk, and sellers in Huaqiangbei could only make 1 yuan by selling a U disk. However, Langko's U disk-related patent income this year was still more than 36 million, while its annual profit was only more than 60 million, and U disk patents accounted for more than half of the company's annual profit.

Anyway, as long as there is no money to use it, Langco will find someone to file a patent lawsuit, and he can always get some money to live a life (I have sued Bensoni, sued the United States, and won the patent lawsuit).

This company is a pity. It once had a very strong position in the high-tech industry in China, but until 2018, it was still refining the patent capital of the end of 1999. Moreover, the U-disk patent will expire at the end of 2019. It is estimated that Langko will die miserably after there is no patent income.

Langko died of internal friction.

Before going public, entrepreneurs can work together. After going public, conflicts break out instantly.

In the four years after Langco's listing, a total of 76 board meetings were opposed or abstained, and 14 shareholder meetings were opposed or abstained, which is very rare in A-shares.

The two inventors of U disk were once close, and after the company went public, they broke each other. You oppose me and I oppose you. The work cannot be carried out at all, so they can only stay old until they die. They had very sufficient funds at the time. As long as they found a suitable project, they could occupy a place in the Chinese technology industry.

After understanding the technical difficulty of the U disk, Song Weiyang immediately decided to do two things: apply for a technical patent quickly and immediately establish a company's legal department.

Such products that have no technical barriers and are best-selling will definitely appear in countless followers. Moreover, no matter at home or abroad, they will not actively give you patent fees, and you have to sue them one by one. If manufacturers around the world were very conscious, Langko, who owns the patent for USB flash drive, would have been counting money long ago.

Song Weiyang suddenly asked again: "Does it require a chip to make this kind of flash drive?"

Liu Qiang nodded and said, "I do need a chip."

Song Weiyang immediately had an idea: "We develop our own chips, and then use this chip and other components to make movements. Our main business in the future is movements."

"Why don't you make the USB flash drive yourself?" Liu Qiang said in confusion.

Song Weiyang said: "Of course we also have to make U disks by ourselves. Well, this thing is called U disks. However, there must be many copycat manufacturers in China. It is too troublesome to sue one by one. It is better to make movements, sell them for assembly, and directly control their supply and scale. Of course, lawsuits must also be fought. Those who are unwilling to pay patent fees will be sued! You should develop the technology quickly and we should apply for patents as quickly as possible."

"No problem, there will definitely be results in one month!" Liu Qiang said with a promise.

In fact, it takes time to apply for a patent.

Langko successfully developed the research and development in the summer of 1999 and immediately went to apply for a patent. It was not approved by the China Intellectual Property Office in 2002, and it was not approved by the US Patent Office in 2004. The five-year international patent gap period caused Langko to suffer heavy losses, and he could only find a few of the largest foreign companies to settle the accounts, and most of the infringing manufacturers were at large.

Song Weiyang's idea is to make movements, make them by himself to sell them to domestic manufacturers, and ask Wanwan companies to sell them to overseas manufacturers. Not to mention patent fees, after the patent application in China is released, they will immediately start to collect the accounts. If they don't need money, they will be out of stock, which will at least make the business of unruly guys confused for a while.

This is a very operational idea, because Shenzhou Technology is the world's first U-disk manufacturer, and the manufacturing cost of both mainland China and Wanbing movements is very low. How domestic and foreign manufacturers need to order U-disk manufacturers first, which can save a lot of money.

After developing some domestic and foreign manufacturers into partners, they can even charge less or no patent fees, and then contact the partner manufacturers to sue competitors for infringement.

Those who have attained enlightenment will have many helps, while those who have lost their power will have few helps.

The way to do business is profit.

By then, it would not be that Shenzhou Technology would fight alone, but that there would be cooperative manufacturers to take the initiative to help sue - for them, the more competitors die, the better.

Of course, the premise is to obtain a patent as soon as possible.

In China, Academician Ni is still very connected, and Song Weiyang can also spend money to ask others for help. Without violating the regulations, the patent review time will definitely be greatly reduced, at least it will not be delayed for three years like Langko.

And in the United States, aren’t there many Wall Street venture capital companies that want to invest in Google?

The time for negotiations is also here, so I will add another condition and ask them to help urge the US Patent Office.
