3. Merseyside derby

March 11.

This weekend is the FA Cup quarter-finals match day. Everton was eliminated 0-2 by Manchester United in the last round, so the team did not have a formal game.

As a part-time caddy, Long Shute could have had a rare rest time, but he was called by the coach of the first team and served a friendly match with several other caddy.

It was obviously just an insignificant friendly match, but whether it was the head coach Moyes on the sidelines or the main players of the first team on the court, everyone seemed very active. The forwards spared no effort to run in the penalty area, while the defenders showed their soles to the opponent with a ferocious look on their faces, and the referee's whistle sounded one after another.

Long Shute was puzzled, and he couldn't help asking another little caddie next to him: "Ross, do we have a grudge against each other? Why did it play so fiercely?"

The little boy named Rose Barkley is three and a half years younger than him. He is the captain of the Everton U13 echelon. After hearing this question, the young captain rolled his eyes disapprovingly, and his expression seemed to be looking at an idiot: "Please, we will play Liverpool in the next round of the league!"

"Liverpool?" Long Shute seemed to have heard the name somewhere, "So what?"

"This is a Merseyside derby!" Barkley couldn't stand his ignorance and stupidity, so he spread his legs and ran to pick up the ball.

Long Shute looked at the players on the field with silence, and was still confused.

Merseyside County… derby?

What's that thing?!

-

A week later, he deeply realized what a derby is.

It doesn't even take him to play on the game day, and a week in advance, the entire Liverpool city is filled with a strong atmosphere.

The confrontation between red and blue became the main color of the city, with the red Liverpool flag and the blue Everton flag protruding from the window of each family, marking the color belonging of the family.

Everton was founded 14 years earlier than Liverpool, but the latter's popularity and influence around the world are better than the former. A century-long history and grudges have long led to a fierce confrontation between the two groups, and a city derby is about to break out.

During this week, countless patrol police seemed to have suddenly appeared in the streets and alleys of Liverpool. They were wandering around the doors of those taverns as if they were facing a great enemy to prevent drunkard fans from fighting with disagreement, and even raised a torch to ignite the other party or themselves...

On the day of the game day, the atmosphere of tension and excitement intertwined reached its highest point.

Countless people sang and danced to the Anfield Stadium in Liverpool. The red and blue crowds met unexpectedly on the street. They first waved the red and blue flags rationally and calmly. When they found that such civilized behavior was not smooth enough, these people stretched out their middle fingers at the same time. They used men to be silent when they heard it, and women would cry and humiliate each other's ancestors without hesitation without hesitation...

In order to support the home team and cultivate the young players' sense of belonging to the team, Everton Club organized all teams to go to Anfield to watch the game, and even a few Chinese players were no exception.

When they had just walked through the narrow passage and entered the interior of Anfield Stadium, a powerful and hot hustle and bustle pressure came to their faces, and the young players with poor psychological quality even felt unable to breathe.

Long Shute, who was sitting in the stands, couldn't help but open his mouth. His ears seemed to be tinnitus, and the feeling was like flying in the clouds.

When the red and blue players slowly walked out of the corridor, this feeling reached its peak!

The speakers above Anfield Stadium cheered their players with the largest decibels and incited a wave of red to sweep the stands.

As the players walked out one by one, those names that shocked Europe resounded throughout the stadium.

Dudek, Riser, Carragher, Fennan, Pellegrino, Smitchell, Harman, Barroche, Garcia, Morientes...

Of course, there is also the Red Army captain, 25-year-old Stephen Gerrard.

When Gerald was the last to walk out of the passage, Long Shute's tinnitus reached the most powerful level. He felt the seat under his butt tremble violently, and the ceiling above his head seemed to be shaken by sound at any time.

He was not those young and ignorant children, but his legs were still shaking uncontrollably.

He couldn't help breathing in the air in big mouthfuls to relieve his discomfort. The young players who trained with him were also pale in their faces. The cheering sounds of their words were drowned by the huge red waves, as if withered leaves fell into the huge waves.

“When you walk through the storm,

Keep your head high

Don't be afraid of the darkness,

At the end of the storm,

It's a golden sky,

Sweet singing with the lark.

Walking through the wind, walking through the rain,

Maybe your dream will be shattered.

go ahead!

Move forward with the hope in your heart!

But you will never walk alone,

You will never walk alone…”

The low but extremely penetrating singing echoed throughout the court, and the Everton players wearing blue jerseys were like lambs to be slaughtered in front of the red army opposite.

Everton is clearly ranked fourth in the league, but Liverpool is only sixth...

Everton players obviously get more rest time...

Liverpool also participated in the previous Champions League matches, and their physical condition has no advantage...

It is obvious that Liverpool's head coach Benitez has been in charge of the team for less than a year, and his tactical style has not been fully integrated into this team. The relationship between the large number of Spanish players he has introduced is not very harmonious...

The Red Army Captain Gerald looked so miserable, but he was young but looked depressed...

Everton's players obviously look younger and more energetic...

Obviously... Liverpool striker Barroche was sent off with a red card in less than 70 minutes...

Liverpool obviously beat one less person...

But when 90 minutes later, the whistle at the end of the game blew over Anfield, Everton, who seemed to be winning, left the stadium of his mortal enemy in shame.

Long Shute followed the team out of the stands. Before leaving, he turned around and looked at the jumping red crowds in the stadium.

Liverpool are celebrating wildly!

Liverpool fans can still yell that makes everyone look terrified after nearly three hours of game!

The ceiling of Anfield seemed to be rustling, and the white clouds in the sky seemed to be dispelled by the sound!

Sent one person?

The schedule is intensive?

Two-line combat?

Physical fitness is not supported?

Tactical running-in?

Is there no hope of winning the league?

Want to concentrate on fighting the Champions League?

The captain is too young?

Sorry, none of these are the problems!

This is a Merseyside derby!

This is Anfield!

This is their territory!

This Red Army never surrenders!

This is a derby!
Chapter completed!
