59. Banquet Hall and Principal's Room (Part 2)

The dinner is coming to an end.

And every wizard here knew very well that the gentleman had one more important thing not announced.

On the platform, the teachers and students who had not seen each other for a long time seemed to be having a happy chat. No one dared to urge him to say that it was too late and it was time for everyone to go back to bed. As long as the teacher didn't speak, the dinner would never end.

Finally, the wizard next to the high platform heard the gentleman's casual words.

"If you come to me, just be the Minister of Magic for the time being, teacher. Connelly happened to have just talked to me, and he felt unable to manage the Ministry of Magic."

The wizards who heard this sentence all paused slightly, but soon all reacted again. They chatted and laughed as they should, but only Connelly Foggy, who had been by his husband's side, had a pug-like smile on his face froze.

But this stiffness lasted for less than two seconds, and his round face re-emerged with a chrysanthemum-like smile.

"Ah, it's of course better to take over my position with President Slughorn. His abilities are obvious to all. I believe that the Ministry of Magic will definitely become better under his leadership in the future."

Slughorn's smile on his face from beginning to end did not change, and he politely refused.

"I am so old, and I am really trying to manage the Ministry of Magic for you. You should help me find a casual job and enjoy life. Of course, the salary is not a penny. I heard that the candied pineapple fruit in Diagon Alley is not cheap."

The gentleman laughed. His request for Slughorn to be the Minister of Magic did not seem so firm, and the initial words seemed to be really casual.

"The teacher said, it's time for you to enjoy life, but the pineapple candied fruit is indeed not cheap, and the salary of ordinary jobs cannot afford you to eat every day."

He seemed to have thought of something and turned to look at Fuji.

"I remember you said that Dorfen, who is in charge of the International Magic Cooperation Division, doesn't want to do it anymore?"

Fudge smiled and said, "He has been complaining that France has always had no way to communicate. During the previous meetings, they even made a wand. He told you about this before, saying that he actually wanted to go back to the Death Eater."

"Then let him go back. The guards will probably have a few places to spend this night, and calculate one for him."

He said calmly, his voice still being so casual, but this time he had an undeniable tone.

"Teacher, come and be the director of the International Magic Cooperation Department. I feel more at ease with me than the baboons who only know how to wield magic wands. I also have one more position as deputy director of the Ministry of Magic. After all, you are my teacher, and even if you are the director, you cannot be just the director."

Slughorn did not refuse this time, he smiled and nodded, only glanced at Fuji, who seemed to be relieved from the corner of his eyes.

He knew clearly that in the Ministry of Magic, even if there was no clear instruction from his students, this puppet-like minister would definitely keep staring at him for a moment, and this was exactly what his students wanted to see.

The gentleman played with the scarlet stone in his hand, and finally picked up the goblet beside him.

He did not get up, but sat in the main seat and gently raised his wine glass and said aloud to the wizards in the entire banquet hall.

"For the purest bloodline!"

In the audience, the male and female witches also raised their wine glasses and delivered speeches for the last moment of the dinner.

"For the purest bloodline!"

......

Fox on the golden branch was combing his gorgeous feathers with his sharp beak.

Dumbledore mentioned his failure without showing any frustration or shame on his face, and he said calmly.

"The black demon head is unprecedented in magic, especially the talent of black magic. But before, his will has always been very chaotic, and it can even be described as madness. This makes his black magic more powerful and uncontrollable, but also makes him influenced by the will of magic, rather than the will of will to control magic. He and his organization bring unspeakable horror to the magic world, which will only make countless people spontaneously oppose his rule."

"But one day after that, he had a change that no one knew. He became more like his former self, good at disguising, knew to use nobler goals to modify his desires, knew to use things other than violence to unite the people around him, and knew how to truly master his own strength."

"After that, the wind direction of the magic world began to change. He completely eroded the Ministry of Magic almost silently. At that time, Hogwarts Castle became the only place to compete with him. At that time, he took the initiative to make a fair duel with me, and on the day of the duel, that is, the night when he led his men into Hogwarts Castle."

"The students were hiding in the kitchen underground, and the teachers and other people who opposed him were fighting in the corridors, lawns, classrooms and castles, and he and I were in the final showdown on the highest astronomical tower in the castle."

Jon held his breath and subconsciously imagined the scene of the tragic night in his mind through Dumbledore's narrative.

There were battles everywhere in Hogwarts Castle, with Death Eaters falling down and Professors in Hogwarts constantly dying, but the only one who could determine the outcome of the war was on that tower.

But finally...

"In the end, I lost." Dumbledore said calmly, "his spell knocked me to the ground, and the life-seeking curse on his wand has lit up. I still remember what he said to me clearly: 'Professor Dumbledore, I prove to you that the most powerful magic in the world is not that shitty love, but something greater and more fascinating!' Then, before his life-seeking curse was released, Fox saved me, and that night he successfully ruled the entire British magic world."

He stared at the elder wand in his hand. There was not much regret in his words, but he felt a little emotional and relaxed.

"It was from that day that this wand became ordinary in my hands because I was no longer worthy of being its owner."

"As for the second question you asked, Jon, is he really invincible? As a loser, I can't give you a sure answer, but what I can tell you is that even if he defeated me once, he can't guarantee that he can beat me the second and third times as he did the first time, even if the wand in my hand can no longer exert its full power."

Dumbledore said seriously.

"The power of his extremely powerful is unknown, but this power must be unstable, otherwise he would not want to drag it on with me like this and let time wipe out my magic. Since he has something to be afraid of, it means that he is far from invincible."

Jon fell silent.

From Dumbledore, he finally got the answer he had always wanted to know. Not only did Voldemort kill Harry Potter that night, he also became stronger and more sensible than before.

But even Dumbledore himself didn't know why it became like this.

Or he had actually investigated something, but his trust in Jon was far from the point where he could tell everything he knew.

Even what he and Jon said now, Jon felt a little too much.

Before tonight, they could count the number of times they had communicated with each other, but why did they say so much to him now?

Just because Jon discovered the secret of Slughorn being an undercover agent?

Jon felt that the conversation Dumbledore had with him tonight would not be so simple, and he would definitely have a deeper purpose in the end.

Just when he thought of this, Dumbledore looked at him and suddenly asked.

"I heard Horas say that you have a very high talent in brain closure?"

Jon was stunned at first, then nodded slightly.

"The teacher said that I learned this magic well."

Dumbledore's eyes became solemn, and he asked sincerely.

"So Jon, I wonder if you would like to do something for me?"
