23. Inside the carriage

The sky flashed a dazzling red light in an instant. The light penetrated the window glass of the carriage and reflected on the faces of every student. Then there was a thunderous roar that could only be produced by an explosion spell.

No one was making noise, but a few timid lower-grade girls sobbed quietly, and there were some sixth and seventh graders who had obviously experienced strong winds and waves around them, whispering comforting.

Jon and Neville and the other five shrank to the corner of the restaurant together. The freshmen were in a stable mood, and the only girl, Lavender, was not very weak.

In addition to them, Ron's two older brothers, George and Fred, and Lee Jordan, the dark-skinned boy in their grade.

The twins, who were usually bold, not only did not seem nervous and afraid of their situation at all, but also talked about their life in the carriage.

"This is the first time we have encountered this."

I don’t know if it was George Fred’s boy, and his tone was even mixed with excitement that he was afraid that the world would not be in chaos.

"Even Percy has never experienced it, only Bill and Charlie had the dangerous experience of being chased by Aurors several times during their school days. I heard that since Dumbledore cast a powerful spell on the carriage, the Aurors have never been able to determine the location of Hogwarts."

Hearing his words, Jon, who was silent aside, felt a little enlightened.

Just now, when he saw the reactions of the senior students, he felt a little strange. He was not the case with Aurors, but now it seems that this is not the case.

"Actually, there is no need to worry at all." said another of the twins. "As long as Professor Dumbledore is in the car, our safety will definitely not be a problem unless... that person comes here in person!"

When Ron heard the last sentence he said, his face, which was not nervous, turned pale in an instant, and his body subconsciously shivered.

"Don't say such things! He is now in a high position and power, and it is impossible for him to focus on us...."

Justin asked curiously as Ron looked at Ron's mutated face, and Neville and Ravend who were obviously silent.

"Who is that person?"

The twins looked at each other, and they sarcastically said in a complimentary and exaggerated tone.

"Of course it's that 'great gentleman'!"

Lee Jordan looked around with a panic look on his face, and he swallowed his saliva and said in a nearly begging voice to the twins.

"Well, George Fred, I know you're not afraid of him, but at least you have to pay attention."

The twins looked disdainful.

"What's that? We've all heard Professor Dumbledore call his former name directly."

“Professor Dumbledore is Professor Dumbledore, we are us.”

While they were arguing about this, Jon suddenly said something.

"Where has Professor Slughorn gone?"

Everyone around them became quiet. They began to look around in the restaurant, but they could not find the professor.

But Neville said hesitantly.

"I just heard someone report to Professor Slughorn that Felch is missing. Professor Slughorn asked the student president to stay here, and he went to find Felch."

"It seems that Felch hasn't come to the restaurant from the beginning?" Ravend asked in confusion.

George and Fred both looked disgusted with this carriage administrator.

"He might be planning some plan to punish students in his room. We have never heard of it once. He often suggests to Professor Dumbledore that in this special period, Hogwarts' former corporal punishment system can be restored so that students can be better disciplined."

While they were talking, the sky had already become quiet again.

The running Yethers quickly left the battlefield with their carriage, but the professors had not returned yet, so the students could only stay in the restaurant.

Some students were frightened and exhausted, and could no longer stop lying on the dining table and fell asleep. It was at this time that Slughorn walked in with an ugly Felch.

When they entered the door, they seemed to be communicating with something, and the administrator didn't look very wonderful.

Slughorn knew at this time that even if he could not go back to the dormitory to sleep for the time being, he would have to arrange for the students to rest.

He waved his wand to clear all the tables and chairs in the dining room, and then transformed dozens of sleeping bags so that the students could temporarily spend the night here.

The dim lights swayed gently in the restaurant with the bumps of the carriage.

Beside Jon, Neville and the others had already heard even breathing, and occasionally a few not-so-noisy snoring sounds not far away.

I don't know if it was because he had already slept enough yesterday. Even though it was already past two in the morning, Jon still had no sleepiness.

He was lying close to the window, and he could see the bright white moon in the night sky.

What happened tonight made the sense of crisis in his heart even worse.

Now with Dumbledore's protection, they don't have to worry about their safety, but Dumbledore cannot always be with them, and his identity is definitely not just the principal of this Hogwarts.

Besides, although I don’t know what happened in the past, since the magic world has all fallen into Voldemort’s hands, it means that Dumbledore may not have any advantage in front of him.

While thinking about it, Jon also put his hand into his robe pocket and touched the ring that felt cold at any time.

But no matter what, tomorrow he will solve the problem of this ring first, and then he will try to find ways to improve his strength, without expecting how strong he can be. At least he cannot even have the ability to raise his wand to use a spell like he is now.

On this turbulent night, time passed by bit by bit.

As the sky in the east appeared a pale white, the starry sky gradually disappeared. Just as the students were still asleep, Dumbledore returned to the carriage with Lily, MacGonagall and Fleeve.

In addition to his face, Dumbledore looked a little tired, and even his robe had no wrinkles. Lily and McGonagall's hair was slightly messy by the wind, and they didn't seem to be injured. Only Flevy was supported and limped into the carriage. His left leg was already infected with bright red blood, and there was a faint smell of burnt lake.

Slughorn looked at Flevy's injury on his leg and looked ugly, and he took the short professor from Lily.

"I still have some white essence in there, which will work very well for you."
