Chapter 1242 Compromise

Rescue is like putting out a fire. If the troops set out from the right bank of the Pushore River follow Sokov's orders and wait until it's dark, they will have to wait five or six hours. Within such a long time, the German army, which is progressing smoothly, will be able to continue to expand the results of the battle and cut off the 188th Division and the Pushore River defense area.
In order to avoid the reinforcements fighting with the Germans on the way, they must be asked to set off in advance. For this reason, Sameko called the two regiment commanders to the commander and said with a serious expression: "Comrades, the situation in the commander is now very dangerous. For safety reasons, he was going to let you set off again. However, judging from the current situation, the enemy may continue to expand the results before dark. If you wait until night to set off, you may encounter the enemy on the way..."
When he learned that the situation in Sokov was critical, Lieutenant Colonel Goriachkin, the commander of the 546th Regiment, could not hold back: "Comrade Chief of Staff, stop talking, let's set off now. When marching, we will pay attention to air defense."
Samek knew in his heart that the reason why Sokov let the troops set off at night was that he might be air strikes from the Luftwaffe during the march. Since Lieutenant Colonel Goriacchikin expressed his opinion that he would pay attention to the air defense during the march, there was nothing to worry about. He stretched out his hand to the other party and smiled and said, "Comrade Lieutenant Colonel, I wish you all the best!"
After the two regiment commanders came out of the command center, Goriacchikin said to another regiment commander: "The situation in the commander is not good now, we must hurry over as soon as possible. Our regiment has all crossed the Pushore River, and your regiment is still in the process of assembly, so I will lead the troops first, and you can catch up as soon as possible."
After hearing Goriackin's words, the other party had no different opinions. After all, his troops were still shrinking and gathering. He could not set off in less than two or three hours. He could not let the Goriackin's regiment stay and wait for you. Then he nodded and said, "Okay, Lieutenant Colonel Goriackin, you set out first, our regiment will keep up as soon as possible."
When Lieutenant Colonel Goriacchikin returned to the regiment command post, he unexpectedly found that Captain Zumingte, the first battalion commander, was waiting for him. As soon as he saw Goriacchikin appear, Zumingte couldn't wait to ask: "Comrade Commander, the superiors ordered us to gather urgently. Is something wrong?"
Goriachkin and Zumint are both old subordinates of Sokov, so naturally there is no concealment: "You guessed that the situation in the commander is now critical, and we must rush over to reinforcements as soon as possible. For security reasons, the commander originally wanted to let us set out after dark, but General Sameko, the Chief of Staff, was worried that the enemy would take the opportunity to expand the results and cut off the commander's contact with us, so we must set out immediately."
"Comrade Commander," the troops were going to reinforce the 188th Division, which was obviously Zumingte's expectation, but there was an important thing that he felt it was necessary to share a relationship with Goriaccikin: "Asia among the accompanying medical staff!"
"What? Asia is also acting with us?" Goriachkin's reaction was indeed as Zumingte expected. He stamped his feet in a hurry: "The situation there is extremely dangerous, and even the commander may be in danger of life. How can you let Asia go with you? Captain, go back now and find a way to keep Asia on the right bank of the Pushore River."
Zumingte spread his hands and said helplessly: "I'm sorry, Comrade Commander, I have tried my best, but I can't convince Asia."
"Where is she?" Goriachikin saw Zumingte helpless, so he could only ask, "I'll go and persuade her myself."
"It's in a nearby health center." Zumingt quickly replied: "A part of the friendly forces defeated by the Germans have retreated into our defense zone, and there are many wounded people. Asia is performing surgery on the wounded."
"Take me to see." Goriacchikin thought of the danger ahead. If he took Asia over without hesitation, it would be fine. If there were any problems, the commander would probably shoot him directly. Therefore, he made up his mind to keep Asia behind.
When Goriackin and Zumingte arrived at the nearby health center, Asia had just had an operation and was washing her hands with the help of a sanitary officer. When she saw the two of them coming in a hurry, she asked in surprise: "Are you going to set off?"
"Yes, Asia." Goriachkin and Asia have dealt with each other a lot of times, and they talk to each other casually: "Our group is about to set off."
Asia took the towel handed to her by the sanitation staff, wiped her hands and said in a panic: "Wait for me, I'll say hello to the person in charge here and set off with you."
"Asia, I think you'd better stay." Goriacchikin said cautiously: "You can treat the wounded here."
"I want to set out with you." Asia is a man of many battles, so she naturally knows that there are more wounded people in the 188th Division now: "After a day of fighting, I think there will be more wounded people in the 188th Division, waiting for me to help them."
"Asia, I'm here to find you here just to talk to you." Goriackin hesitated for a moment and said, "The situation ahead is too dangerous. If you insist on going, your life will be in danger at any time."
"Ltd. Colonel, I understand what you mean." Asia saw Goriackin's thoughts and said with a serious expression: "You are worried that if something happens to me, you will not be able to explain to the commander if you have any accidents."
Seeing that Asia guessed her own thoughts, Goriacchikin couldn't help but blush. For a moment, he didn't know what to say. Since Goriacchikin didn't speak, Asia continued: "Since Sokov is not afraid of staying in the most dangerous place, as his wife, can I not go to the front line because I am afraid of danger? If I really stay, there will probably be many people talking behind my back."
"Asia," just as Goriachikin was considering how to continue persuasion, he saw a female health worker coming out of the simple operating room and said to Asia: "The anesthetics for the injured have taken effect, and you can start the surgery."
Goriaccikin glanced at the female health worker and was immediately scared and sweated. He grabbed Asia and asked tentatively: "Asia, does she want to accompany you too?"
"Yes." Asia nodded and replied in a sure tone: "She is my assistant and she must go with me."
"Asia, please come with me." Goriackin said humbly: "I have something important to discuss with you."
"Ala, I have something to say with lieutenant colonel." Seeing that Goriachikin had something to say to him, Asia waved to the female health worker: "You go back to the operating room first."
After pulling Asia aside, Goriacchikin asked with a wry smile: "Comrade Asia, you may not understand how fierce the war ahead is. If you bring Allah to the battlefield, if something happens to her, how can you tell the commander to General Rokosovsky?"
In the situation in front of him, Goriachkin felt that it was impossible to stop Asia from following him to reinforce. But no matter what, Rokosovsky's daughter Alla cannot take risks with him. Therefore, he decided to settle for the second best. As long as he could keep Alla, it would be unimportant whether Asia would be with him.
"Asia, I'll discuss something with you," Goriachikin told Asia: "If you let Allah stay, then I will no longer object to you going with us."
