Chapter 45 Songshan Village

Luo Zhixue knew very well that once these officers and soldiers were allowed to fight deep into Funiu Mountain, the traces of their Funiu Mountain Baoxiang camp and the location of Sanshui Village would inevitably be exposed. They would try to intercept the officers and soldiers directly in the peripheral areas.

In addition to continuing to conceal the traces of Sanshui Village, Luo Zhixue also wanted to protect the villages surrounding Sanshui Village.

These villages are now the soldiers of Funiu Mountain's rural protection camp and are the source of food and grass. How can they be easily harassed by officers and soldiers!

Although Sun Chengli has not returned yet, and the strength under the hands of Luo Zhixue and Xu He is still relatively weak, Luo Zhixue still decided to send troops.

Before sending troops, he once again set his sights on those prisoners of war and old thieves.

These old thieves are all soldiers with combat experience. Even if they cannot be selected as cavalry auxiliaries, they are much better as ordinary soldiers than new recruits.

Luo Zhixue is still the same as before, letting them make their own choices based on the principle of voluntariness. If they are willing to join him, Luo Zhixue can come over for a living, and if they don't want to, don't force them.

Not surprisingly, except for a very few people who were unwilling, most of the others took it as a choice to submit.

Luo Zhixue didn't have much hope for these people. He just had the mentality of using them if they could, and it wouldn't hurt if they couldn't.

In order to maintain the combat effectiveness of these people, and to prevent them from bringing down the old-fashioned soldiers in the three infantry teams, Luo Zhixue simply organized them into two separate teams.

However, captains and chiefs are still selected from the supply camp.

If you do this, it is inevitable that there will be deserters. After all, there must be people inside who are dissatisfied with Luo Zhixue and the others, or who dare not be inferior to others, or simply want freedom.

Within two days of taking them out, more than twenty people ran away... many of them were people who had been selected as cavalry auxiliaries, especially the previous leaders, one by one, they all ran away...<

Luo Zhixue was not surprised by this, after all, it was expected.

He won't feel angry, and he even thinks it's a good thing.

If all those who are dissatisfied or have other small ideas have escaped, then the remaining people will feel more at ease to use it.

If no one runs away, Luo Zhixue will still have to worry about whether they will rebel midway or even turn around and beat Luo Zhixue.

Of course, just because he is not surprised or angry does not mean that Luo Zhixue has no reaction.

Since these people agreed to serve as his soldiers and eat his food, they wanted to serve him, but now they ran away and became deserters. If Luo Zhixue didn't respond, he would not lead a team in the future.

So An Yongduo is very busy these days. He is constantly leading his troops to hunt down these deserters.

Under the pursuit of the cavalry, except for a few lucky ones, the rest of the people had their heads cut off and hung on the trees on the mountain paths!

After attacking like this all the way, the team led by Luo Zhixue had already lost nearly thirty people before they even fought with the officers and soldiers, which I have to say is quite ironic.

Walking all the way out, they finally arrived at Songshan Village and met with more than 20 people sent by Xu He before, led by Xu He's confidant captain Wang Bingqi.

Previously, Wang Bingqi had been leading a small number of people in the villages outside Sanshui Village. In the past, they were collecting grain, and in the follow-up, they were monitoring and intercepting Ming army sentries.

In this way, in the small Songshan Village, the Funiu Mountain Baoxiang Camp gathered about 200 troops. In addition, there were more than 30 prisoners of war and more than 40 civilians who were temporarily requisitioned to transport baggage.

In Sanshui Village, only Xu He and thirty or forty people are left looking at his hometown and waiting for Sun Chengli to return.

After arriving in Songshan Village, Luo Zhixue immediately asked Wang Bingqi to learn about the situation in Songshan Village and the Ming army.

Wang Bingqi is also an old thief who came from the army cavalry. He was Xu He's personal soldier before, and was subsequently promoted to captain by Xu He, with more than 20 people in charge.

Although Wang Bingqi was not Luo Zhixue's subordinate in a strict sense, he also knew that Luo Zhixue was the military advisor in charge of the camp's baggage. At the same time, he also had a team named responsible for transporting the guard's baggage, but in fact it was actually smaller than the others.

All three armies need stronger supply camps.

Therefore, Wang Bingqi did not dare to neglect, and quickly told everything he learned about the situation.

"Songshan Village is about four days away from our Sanshui Village. It is also the southernmost village among the more than ten villages currently under our control. If we continue to go southeast, we will pass through the mountains and reach the outer area.

It is said to be a four-day journey, but the actual straight-line distance is not that far. It is just that the roads in the mountains are small paths that are difficult to walk. At the same time, these mountain roads are often winding and winding.

Sometimes it's just a mountain, but it often takes more than half a day to climb over this mountain.

This is what Wangshan is talking about.

Just listen to Wang Bingqi continue: "There are now more than 400 people in Songshan Village, and there are dozens of scattered mountain hunters in the surrounding area. When we recruited soldiers before, we also recruited more than ten people."

"Because Songshan Village is our outermost village, and even though we are not out of the mountains after climbing over Songshan Mountain to the south of the village, we are still outside. The mountains outside are not high and there are many people there."

"We had previously discovered traces of officers and soldiers on the trail into Songshan. After arresting and interrogating the survivors, we discovered that a large group of officers and soldiers had camped in the south of Songshan, which is only about a day's journey from our Songshan Village."<

"The day before yesterday, I personally made a trip and inspected the camp of the officers and soldiers. I estimate that there are at least two hundred officers and soldiers, but they cannot all be combat soldiers. Many of them are young civilians who followed the army into the mountains."

While listening to Wang Bingqi's introduction, Luo Zhixue also looked up at the village in front and the mountains in the distance.

Songshan Village, like other villages in the mountains, is built in a relatively flat valley at the foot of several mountains. A small river flowing from the depths of the mountains passes through the valley.

This chapter is not over yet, please click on the next page to continue reading!

Only this kind of relatively flat valley with small rivers can provide enough developable farmland to feed the population, and in this way can it continuously attract farmers fleeing from famine to come here to open up wasteland and live.

There are many pine trees around the village. Luo Zhixue estimated that this is why the locals call this place Songshan Village, and the mountains to the south are called Songshan.

Luo Zhixue squinted and took a look at the surrounding terrain of Songshan Village, and then turned his attention to Songshan Mountain in the south.

This pine mountain is indeed the same as what Wang Bingqi reported before. Although it is not too high, it is extremely steep and densely covered with jungle. In many places, it is simply impossible to climb cliffs.

Such a steep mountain coupled with dense jungle would not be easy even for mountain hunters to climb, let alone an army carrying a large amount of baggage.

And it was destined that if the Ming army outside the mountains wanted to enter the mountains, they could only enter along the roads that have been opened in some low-lying canyons in the mountains.

In this way, if we want to resist the Ming army's attack, we will have terrain that we can use.

And this is actually the reason why Luo Zhixue led the army southward to Songshan Village non-stop after learning about the Ming army. It was because he knew before that there was terrain here that could be used to better keep the officers and soldiers out of the mountains.

Luo Zhixue, who had such a plan, arrived at Songshan Village to understand the preliminary situation, and then personally took people to Songshan in the south to conduct a detailed survey of the terrain, so that corresponding measures could be taken when the army entered the mountain.

Whether you are fighting a sniper battle, an ambush battle, or even if you want to escape after being defeated, you must be familiar with the terrain.

While Luo Zhixue was doing these preparations in Songshan Village, Fei Bingqing was frowning slightly in the Ming army camp seven or eight miles south of Songshan.

Most of the sentinels he sent to several directions have returned, but only the sentinel sent to the north toward Songshan has not returned.

It would be fine if he didn't come back for a day or two, but it had already been four or five days and he still hadn't come back. Fei Bingqing could guess without asking anyone that the sentry sent out must have had an accident.

And it is unlikely that he was attacked by tigers or other wild beasts in the mountains, or that he lost his footing and fell into the cliff.

Because the sentinels he sent to the north were all in groups of three, because one or two people could be killed or injured in an accident, but the possibility of all three being wiped out was low.

Therefore, Fei Bingqing concluded that the sentinels heading north were most likely killed by bandits or unscrupulous people in the mountains.

In this case, the situation in the north is very obvious, and there must be enemies.

Now that he has discovered potential enemies in the mountains to the north, Fei Bingqing does not intend to delay any longer and prepares to head north early tomorrow morning.

He accepted Huang Guangmao's order and asked him to lead his troops out of Funiu Mountain. Although he didn't have to go directly into the mountain to kill, he still had to find out the basic situation deep in Funiu Mountain.<

/p>

Otherwise, when Huang Guangmao and Wang Jida came behind with an army of thousands of people, they would have no idea what was going on ahead, and the boat would easily capsize in the gutter.

Therefore, Fei Bingqing needs to find out what is going on in Songshan in advance.

If there were just some unruly people in the mountains or a small number of bandits, Fei Bingqing would not be polite and directly command his troops to sweep them over.

If you encounter a large group of bandits, you need to find out how many people are on the other side and what their equipment is. This way, when Huang Guangmao comes up in person with his army and asks about his situation, you won't be confused.

After making some calculations in his mind, Fei Bingqing led more than 200 people early the next morning and marched along the mountain trail towards Songshan Mountain in the north.

The Ming army camp is located in the hinterland of the mountains, surrounded by high mountains and dense forests. Even though Fei Bingqing had sent soldiers to guard the surrounding areas, he still could not find the Sanshui Village spies hiding in the dense forests.

Therefore, as soon as Fei Bingqing's troops set out, they were discovered by spies from Sanshui Village, who sent people to rush north to inform Songshan Village.
