296. Across the ocean to make money

Dong Qiangqiang was worried that giving her money before eating would be pushed, and he didn't like the behavior of rushing to pay for the bill in public and giving humility to each other. He made up his mind and immediately gave her the money after dinner. If Wang Shunan refused, he would stuff the money into her pocket and escape.

He picked a big chicken leg, ordered a bowl of cold salad and a mushroom soup, and finally walked to the staple food.

Wang Shunan ordered a pork chop rice and a bowl of tomato and egg soup, but Dong Qiangqiang had no appetite for rice bowl. He saw plates of Italian meat sauce noodles quietly placed in another meal pickup mouth. Each plate looked just two taels or less than three taels. If he wanted one portion of noodles, it might be a little less, but if he wanted two portions, he would definitely not finish it.

A strong man with a tattooed flower arm was slowly pouring tomato and meat sauce into a pile of white noodles in the workshop after picking up the meal. Dong Qiangqiang asked politely: "Can you add some more noodles in this plate?"

"One portion is so much." The big man didn't raise his head, and his movements continued. "If one portion is not enough, just eat two portions."

But Dong Qiangqiang was unwilling to waste food, so he had to pick out a portion of the pile from the pile and put it in the pallet. He was about to turn around to find Wang Shunan, but Wang Shunan had already walked to him quietly and said to the big man: "Wuli, he is my friend. Can you please help me?"

The big man named Wuli turned his head and glanced at Dong Qiangqiang, pointed at him, and asked Wang Shunan with a smirk: "Is he your boyfriend?"

"No, an ordinary friend." Wang Shunan explained with a red face. Dong Qiangqiang smiled awkwardly, thinking that this person is really gossipy.

Wuli looked around and saw that no one was paying attention to him, he waved to Dong Qiangqiang and signaled him to put the plate at the window. As soon as Dong Qiangqiang put the plate down according to his instructions, Wuli threw a chopstick to Dong Qiangqiang's plate with lightning speed.

In Dong Qiangqiang's shocked eyes, a spoonful of ketchup poured steadily on the noodles.

Dong Qiangqiang had never seen a foreigner use chopsticks so smoothly that his chin was almost falling off.

Uri looked at Wang Shunan proudly and asked in crappy Chinese: "How is my skill?"

Wang Shunan raised his thumb and replied in Chinese: "Progress is rapid."

"Hehe," Uri smiled proudly, continuing to show off his poor Chinese, "It's better for you, the teacher."

The entire dining area is about thirty or forty people. Although there are many people, they are very quiet. There are only occasional whispers and no loud noise can be heard.

Dong Qiangqiang and Wang Shunan specially chose a corner with few people to chat.

"Time was in a hurry yesterday, and I didn't have time to introduce myself." Wang Shunan straightened his clothes and stretched out his hand with a smile, "Wang Shunan, from Sichuan, I'm very happy to know you."

"Dong Qiangqiang, his ancestral home is Shanxi, and he followed his parents to Beijing at a very young age." Dong Qiangqiang picked up a piece of French fries and dipped them in the tomato sauce on the plate, "I'm considered a senior Beijing drifter."

"Are you from Beijing?" Wang Shunan said curiously, "But you don't seem to have any Erhuayin when you speak? I know a few Beijingers here, and you can hear it as soon as you hear it."

"Maybe it's related to speaking German. There are many consonants in German pronunciations, and the Erhua sound is slowly gone." Dong Qiangqiang changed his tone, "What's going on with that Wuli just now? I heard that he calls you a teacher. What's going on?"

"Hehe, guess what Uri did before?" Wang Shunan slowly forked up a small piece of pork chop cut.

"It seems that he is not old, so he should be a student, right?" Dong Qiangqiang turned his head and looked at the window where Wuli was, and saw him carefully placing the plates that were serving noodles.

"He was in prison for two years when he was young because of violating the law." Wang Shunan said calmly, "I was given parole because of his good performance, but I had to volunteer here for one year. Later, he felt that the environment here was good. Although he was tiring in his work, he was a serious profession after all, so he stayed completely."

"Then he called you teacher because?" Dong Qiangqiang was even more curious. How could Wang Shunan have a teacher-student relationship with a former criminal? "Do you teach him Chinese?"

"He had suffered a leg injury before and it hurts when it rains. I used acupuncture to treat him. From then on, he learned Chinese culture from me."

"You still know acupuncture?" Dong Qiangqiang felt that since he walked into the cafeteria, Wang Shunan had been constantly refreshing his cognition.

"Well, I learned from my grandfather when I was a child." Wang Shunan smiled ashamed, "It's just some fur."

"Then are you a Chinese medicine doctor?" Dong Qiangqiang asked, "Are you studying medical school in Hannover?"

Dong Qiangqiang knew that Hannover, as the capital of Lower Saxony, not only had comprehensive universities, but also the University of Applied Technology, the School of Music and the School of Medicine of Hannover, so he took it for granted that Wang Shunan also came here to study.

"Oh, no, I'm not here to study." Wang Shunan continued to cut pork chops, "I studied nursing in China and worked as a nurse after graduation. I have been working for more than five years now."

"Professional in nursing?" Dong Qiangqiang said strangely, "You were born in a family of traditional Chinese medicine, why don't you study traditional Chinese medicine?"

"Although my grandfather knows medical skills, his family's conditions are very... average." Wang Shunan showed a look of wanting to speak but stopping.

Dong Qiangqiang knew that everyone was inconvenient to tell others, so he quickly pushed the bowl of French fries in his tray to Wang Shunan, and changed the topic: "The French fries are fried on the outside and tender on the inside, very good, try it."

Wang Shunan gently pushed the fries back: "I originally wanted to study Chinese medicine, but after looking at the employment environment, it was not very ideal, so I changed to nursing major. After graduation, I wanted to find a public hospital to work. But it is difficult for me to enter a public hospital with this degree. Not to mention municipal (hospital), even prefecture-level hospitals only need full-time college students or above."

"Didn't you try to take the undergraduate degree by yourself?" Dong Qiangqiang took a sip of the noodles.

"Well, I planned this way when I first graduated, but before the exam, I went to the hospital for a special question. Many public hospitals did not consider taking the undergraduate degree in their own studies at all. I gave up this idea."

"Many industries in China do value first education," Dong Qiangqiang echoed, "but it's not just you who encountered this kind of thing."

Wang Shunan spoke very slowly, and there was always a faint expression on his face: "Later, when I was working in a county-level hospital, I met several fellow villagers. They said they could go to Germany to work and earn a lot of money in a year, so I came with them."
